Peer Network as Commerce Graph: Business Profiles and Merchant Checkout

Scaling mobile and backend delivery as peer payments expanded into merchant use

Engagement model · Managed Services

01

The P2P platform is the consumer side of the global payments company's two-platform fintech architecture, covering peer-to-peer payments, the social feed, merchant checkout through pay via the platform, cards and balance, and crypto. Taller's engagement at the P2P platform and the global payments company organization is the deepest fintech engineering footprint in the portfolio: multi-year, multi-pod, spanning the consumer side at the P2P platform, the platform side at this company, and the processor side at their payment processing platform (still active in 2026). The five cases below describe what Taller has delivered against the strategic surfaces the P2P platform's report proposed.

02

The P2P platform's expansion from peer-to-peer payments into a commerce graph — pay via the platform merchant checkout, business profiles, goods-and-services tagging, QR codes for in-store, mobile SDKs — required mobile engineering scale-up for the Business Profile launch and ongoing the payment processing platform modernization to support the merchant-processing volume.

03

Taller delivered the mobile and backend pod that supported the P2P platform Business Profile launch on iOS, Android, Python, and MySQL. At their payment processing platform, Taller engineers embedded in Agile squads via pair programming and TDD, accelerated feature delivery (including dispute resolution), and led the containerization and AWS migration with automated CI/CD on Ruby on Rails, AWS, Docker, and TDD. Their payment processing platform engagement remains active in 2026 with continued Ruby on Rails delivery.

04

The Business Profile launch was delivered on accelerated timing with monetization goals achieved. The payment processing platform modernization produced a thirty percent faster integration of new payment features, a forty percent reduction in deployment times, and zero downtime during the AWS migration.

05

The P2P platform commerce graph scaled fast: millions of merchants, 150K business profiles at broad release growing to over a million by mid-2022, a nineteen percent higher purchase-completion rate, thirty-four percent more unplanned purchases in fashion verticals, one fashion brand reporting over half of payments through QR, and one restaurant reporting approximately ninety percent of payments via the platform. These are the global payments company and its P2P platform merchant outcomes earned by the P2P platform's commerce-graph product strategy. Taller's contribution is the engineering scale that supported the Business Profile launch and the payment processing platform modernization that gives the commerce graph its processing surface.
